For your consideration, we are offering for sale this gorgeous restored 1941 Parker Senior Maxima Vacumatic Double Jewel Fountain Pen in the stunning Emerald Pearl Celluloid. This fountain pen has undergone a thorough restoration process, including disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly, and is now in exceptional writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. I have replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the gold-filled Split Arrow Blue Diamond Clip, Chevron Cap Banding, 14K Parker NIB, and Blind Cap Tassie. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy of the fountain pen and protect the celluloid. This Parker Vacumatic is a Senior Maxima size that measures 5 3/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the Split Arrow Blue Diamond Clip with the Chevron Cap Banding displaying absolutely no wear. The barrel has very good transparency with a person easily being able to see through it, albeit with mild ambering. The top and bottom jewels are black and have been polished to a gorgeous high shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "GEO. S. PARKER VACUMATIC MADE IN U.S.A. with a Date Code 1 (for 1941) in the 4th Quarter". The blind cap securely fits and the gold-plated tassie displays no wear.
I have restored the Vacumatic filling mechanism and tested it with water and fills as it should. The Speedline Vacumatic Filling System works great, typically in my tests with water about 12 to 15 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and flawlessly. The Speedline filling system is the correct filling unit for 2nd generation Parker Vacumatics, which this Vac is.
This Parker Vacumatic has the proper 10 Feather 14K two-tone nib. The actual 14K Parker NIB iridium has a medium point measuring roughly .62mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample with this NIB, it writes with a Medium to Broad stroke. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .69mm (with light pressure), and the broad stroke measures at .96mm with firm pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was completed by dipping the NIB in Parker Blue Ink.
